EIA / ESIA Coordination
We coordinate environmental and social impact assessments from scoping to submission, working through the appropriately licensed Lothan Group entities that prepare the studies.
Overview
An environmental impact assessment (EIA) examines the likely effects of a proposed project on the environment and sets out measures to avoid, reduce or manage them. An environmental and social impact assessment (ESIA) extends this to social aspects such as affected communities, land use and livelihoods, and is often requested by international lenders and investors.
Within Lothan Group, impact assessment studies are prepared through appropriately licensed group entities. Lothan International's role is coordination and project management: we support scoping, organize baseline studies and field measurements, manage the schedule and the flow of documents between specialists, and keep the client informed at each stage.
Where the same team also handles the project's environmental permits, the study, its mitigation commitments and the later permit conditions remain consistent from design through to operation.

Regulatory context
In Kuwait, the Environment Protection Law No. 42 of 2014, as amended by Law No. 99 of 2015, includes provisions on the environmental impact assessment of projects, and the Environment Public Authority (EPA) is the competent authority.
ESIA is often required by international lenders and investors in addition to national requirements.
Whether a project needs an assessment, and at what level of detail, depends on the activity and must be confirmed with the competent authority.
